I did get sound but it was so fast it didn't sound right, but I did get some sound at the chime! LASTLY, I reconnected the Nest Hello and then removed (bypassed) the white round Nest Chime Connector. The doorbell chime then works no problem. Then, I tried removing the Nest Hello and touching those two wires together. motion at the chime but not enough movement to sound. So, I bought a new Hampton Bay 16VAC 10VA mechancil doorbell chime. Running out of ideas, I figured my doorbell chime might be bad.

The striker moves but not enough to make sound. Again, the Nest Hello worked no problem but still no sound at the chime. Next, I tried a different transformer for kicks: Hampton Bay 24VAC 20VA. (I also made sure all wiring was correct). My mechanical doorbell chime has some motion but not enough to strike and make sound. Of course, I first replaced my transformer with a Hampton Bay 16VAC 30VA transformer and re-stripped all wires.
